 On March the 3rd Ron, Lisa and David set off with Anton our guide, on our first visit to Japan. This involves 24 hours of travelling which culminated when we arrived on an early bullet train at the Nagoka station. They say that if your train is late in Japan, your watch is wrong, this we can verify! Note the lines on the platform, if only UK train passengers had the same discipline!
After a short walk through the station, luggage on wheels a great necessity, we had a few hundred yards to walk and were installed in ‘The Grand Hotel’ and itching to take in the atmosphere of the Niigata region.
